8M trade posts $5.49bln surplus

Figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show that total trade turnover reached $499.71 billion in the first eight months of 2022, an increase of $68.69 billion, or 15.9 per cent, compared to the same period last year. Exports totaled nearly $252.6 billion, up 18.2 per cent, and imports $247.11 billion, up 18.2 per cent. Trade was therefore in surplus to the tune of $5.49 billion in the period.
