Authorities of central Quang Ngai province has approved an investment plan to upgrade National Highway 24, a key transport route linking mountainous areas with economic centers in the province and neighbouring regions.
The project will cover a total length of approximately 48.4 km. The road will be built with a 9m-wide roadbed. The pavement will combine asphalt concrete and cement concrete on a crushed stone base to ensure durability and load-bearing capacity under long-term operation.
The project has an estimated investment of VND2.35 trillion (around $94 million), of which about VND2 trillion will come from the central budget and VND350 billion from local funding. Implementation is scheduled for the 2026–2028 period.
Upgrading National Highway 24 is expected to significantly improve transport infrastructure, shorten travel times and reduce logistics costs. The project will also help expand socio-economic development space in Quang Ngai’s mountainous areas, strengthen regional connectivity, attract investment and promote tourism, while improving local living standards.
