The overall on-time departure rate for all Vietnamese airlines reached 74.2% in the past nine months of the year, according to reports from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
During the nine-month period, Vietnamese airlines operated a total of 194,027 flights.
Vietnam Airlines led the way with 83,552 flights and an on-time rate of 83%. Vietjet Air followed closely with 83,326 flights, while Bamboo Airways operated 13,064 flights, maintaining an 82.8% punctuality rate.
Flight delays accounted for 25.8% of the total number of flights, or 50,031 flights running behind schedule.
The primary cause of these delays was late aircraft arrivals, making up 15.3%, while operational issues from the airlines themselves accounted for 7.6%.
