A generation coded with the AI-first gene

FPT has not only been a leader in the use of AI in its own talent development efforts and internal operations but has also provided key AI solutions to clients.

As AI gradually becomes the “genetic code” of modern enterprises, a new generation of digital talent must also be equipped with an AI-First mindset - the ability to understand, collaborate, and co-create with AI to generate distinctive value. This mindset goes far beyond merely using AI as a trendy tool or fearing that it may take away one’s job.

From July to November every year, during FPT’s annual employee health check season, the HR department - where Ms. Minh Phuong works - enters its busiest period. Thousands of employees nationwide must be scheduled for two stages: sample collection and comprehensive medical examination.

“Each season, HR mailboxes around the country used to send out roughly 23,000 emails and receive thousands of replies daily asking to reschedule or update information,” Ms. Phuong recalled. Our team practically worked around the clock - filtering duplicates, fixing endless Excel spreadsheets filled with personal data, and simultaneously coordinating with hospitals. It was truly a nightmare.”

For weeks on end, even the most experienced “spreadsheet masters” in HR had to manually process a repetitive chain of tasks - data filtering, inquiry responses, logistics preparation, and issue resolution - to ensure that health checkups for tens of thousands of employees in the northern, central, and southern regions were executed accurately and efficiently.

This “nightmare” has now been largely resolved thanks to an entirely new experience. The HR team has redesigned the entire workflow and employee touchpoints, introducing Maya - a virtual HR assistant with a Western-sounding name - to handle and automate multiple tasks. Maya has effectively become a virtual colleague working side-by-side with the HR department.

Within just a few days, Maya sent out over 20,000 automated messages via the internal platform - covering sample schedules, medical check-up appointments, and result notifications. It also handled inquiries, proactively launched feedback surveys, and summarized responses within hours. The system went a step further by analyzing employee comments, identifying keywords and areas for improvement, and providing HR with almost instant insights to coordinate with hospitals - a workload that previously demanded countless manual hours.

“What impressed us most is the speed and precision,” Ms. Phuong said. “We no longer have to stay up late checking spreadsheets. Now we can focus on what truly matters - listening to employees and enhancing their experience. It feels like we’ve gained an incredibly efficient AI colleague in our team.”

Not just a supporting tool, Maya has quickly become a familiar colleague within the company’s daily operations.

On average each month, the virtual HR assistant handles over 50,000 employee service requests from more than 13,000 staff members, from leave registration, remote work applications, and meeting room bookings to small yet meaningful interactions that shape the employee experience. Maya will automatically send reminders when employees forget to submit leave forms or have missing work-hour entries, and even helps them complete the remaining steps with just one click. These simple but thoughtful interactions make employees genuinely feel that the organization cares for them - faster, more flexibly, and more attentively.

Beyond that, Maya also helps reduce internal task completion time by up to 70 per cent through seamless integration with internal systems, enabling task completion through a single chat line. These figures speak volumes about the real impact of AI in enterprise operations.

But Maya is no “miracle”. Behind the virtual assistant lies FPT’s proprietary AI Agent platform, built upon the company’s extensive big data ecosystem drawn from tens of thousands of employees, where every piece of information, process, and interaction behavior is interconnected. Thanks to this foundation, Maya can understand context, provide accurate responses, and adapt dynamically to each situation.

At every organizational touchpoint, people remain at the heart. AI does not replace humans - it augments them, working in harmony with people’s ways of thinking, communicating, and making decisions. Together, they form a new generation of digital talent carrying the AI-First DNA.

While the HR department has boosted productivity with the help of its virtual assistant Maya, FPT’s global engineering and project management teams have also found their own AI-powered companion - SkyTrans, an AI translation assistant that is transforming how they collaborate across borders.

In a global working environment, speed and accuracy in multilingual communication are not merely advantages, they are requirements for competitiveness. With projects spanning multiple countries, translating and managing thousands of technical documents in different languages used to be a major bottleneck that directly affected progress, costs, and client satisfaction.

SkyTrans emerged as a comprehensive solution to this longstanding challenge, tackling the critical dimensions of translation - speed, accuracy, cost-efficiency, scalability, and security. Unlike third-party translation tools, SkyTrans is developed on FPT’s internal data infrastructure and enriched with domain-specific terminology libraries, ensuring contextual accuracy and significantly reducing the need for manual editing.

According to FPT’s internal records, SkyTrans can translate a million characters in under a minute, shortening tasks that once took weeks to just minutes, while maintaining absolute data security. All data is stored on FPT’s private cloud and encrypted throughout the entire transmission process. For projects with stringent security requirements, the system operates within a closed environment, without sharing any data externally or using it for public AI training.

This powerful assistant can also customize writing tones, retain original formatting, and supports over 100 languages and 20 file types. In particular, its real-time speech translation feature makes global meetings smoother than ever. Software engineers in Japan, for example, can now communicate seamlessly with colleagues in Hanoi, while specialists in Slovakia can fully follow discussions even without a shared language. Language barriers have all but disappeared - allowing people to focus on what truly matters: working, innovating, and connecting.

Launched in early 2025 with just 150 pilot users, SkyTrans surpassed 8,000 users within ten months - an impressive growth rate. It has processed over 1.1 billion characters to date, saving more than VND16 billion ($600,000) in translation costs for FPT units.

Maya and SkyTrans are just two of the more than 1,000 AI Agents FPT has developed to automate specialized business processes, making work faster, more precise, and seamlessly connected.

With an AI-First mindset, FPT is gradually embedding an enterprise-wide AI ecosystem into daily operations, not only through products but also in the way people work, learn, and innovate. AI is not just technology, it’s a part of life. FPT brings AI into every corner of our work to enhance human capability, not replace it.”

This philosophy is brought to life through FPT’s company-wide AI education programs, such as “AI for Everyone”, which helps all employees understand, engage, and generate value from AI. In 2025, FPT’s internal learning ecosystem has continued to expand via partnerships with Mila, NVIDIA, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and Harvard Business Impact, giving employees access to world-class knowledge and practical applications for their work.

The company also encourages every business unit to independently develop and apply AI in ways that suit their unique needs, assisting with everything from HR and coding to finance and customer service. Notable examples include CodeVista (an AI assistant for developers), AI Mentor (a personalized learning assistant), and internal management tools such as FPT Next, FPT Chat, and FPT Place.

All of these initiatives operate under a philosophy of “Think Big - Start Smart - Scale Fast”: each AI Agent is tested within 6-8 weeks, rigorously measured by clear key performance indicators (KPIs) - productivity gains, cost reductions, or improvements in the user experience. If metrics aren’t met, the project is discontinued - no regrets, only learning.

“The greatest challenge when bringing AI into every corner of a business lies in data. To make AI truly intelligent, data must be trustworthy. That’s why we must redesign our operational processes to ensure data quality and consistency. But above all, the AI-First mindset must become part of each individual’s DNA - from engineers to leaders.” shared Mr. Dao Duy Cuong.

This agility allows FPT to continuously introduce practical, relevant AI tools - avoiding the trap of “AI for show” or making scattered investments - and sustaining continuous, effective innovation.

“Each AI Agent created for FPT employees marks a step forward in making AI a true companion in their everyday work. In our view, AI in the workplace isn’t a cold machine - it’s a silent partner that makes work lighter, decisions smarter, and people happier.” shared Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dong.

In the global context, FPT’s AI-First strategy aligns with leading technology corporations that place people at the center of digital transformation.

What unites FPT with these global giants is the AI-First philosophy, seeing the technology not merely as an automation tool but also as a lever to amplify human potential and foster workplace happiness.

By starting with the smallest employee needs and expanding to organization-wide applications, FPT is step-by-step building a happier, smarter workplace powered by AI - where technology doesn’t replace people but empowers them to work better, create more, and grow in the right direction.

While AI is helping FPT build a smarter and more connected workplace from within, on the global stage, the AI-First philosophy has become the guiding principle behind every project and every value FPT delivers to its clients.

Rather than simply “applying AI” to individual projects, FPT begins with a bigger question: “How can AI redefine the way this business operates, makes decisions, and creates value?”

From Japan, Germany, and the US to the Asia-Pacific region, the answer is unfolding through FPT’s numerous AI projects - where AI is not just a trendy technology but a new source of competitive advantage.

IvyChat - AI platform for intelligent operations at Itochu

The Itochu Group - one of Japan’s leading diversified trading companies - is accelerating its digital transformation strategy across hundreds of subsidiaries. The challenge goes beyond digitizing a single process; it’s about automating operations on a global scale.

Within just two months, Itochu successfully deployed a generative AI platform developed from IvyChat – a multi-agent large language model-based solution that automates data analysis, enables multilingual communication, and seamlessly connects cross-border teams.

After one year, the solution has been scaled across Itochu’s branches in 65 countries and continues to expand into the finance, insurance, and manufacturing sectors in the US, Japan, and Europe. Ivychat has also earned two prestigious international awards - the Gold Stevie Award 2024 and the Silver Globee Award 2025 - underscoring FPT’s global AI excellence.

AIDP - When AI becomes the trusted colleague of insurance agents

Insurance agents often grapple with fragmented workflows, outdated tools, and overwhelming manual tasks. To address such challenges, FPT developed the AI Agent Digital Platform (AIDP) - a unified AI-powered platform that consolidates all core insurance operations into a single application.

AIDP is built on five key technological pillars: AI-driven lead scoring, a 24/7 advisory chatbot, an omni-channel unified app, eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) and digital contracts, and a real-time KPI dashboard.

The platform currently serves over 15,000 agents across two major insurance corporations in the Asia-Pacific region. “After one year of adopting the AIDP, our organization has witnessed transformative business impacts: quotation and task management processes are now automated, agent productivity has increased by 10 per cent, the number of monthly submitted quotations has grown by 25 per cent, and customer satisfaction has improved significantly,” a representative from one of the two corporations said. “More importantly, the AIDP has empowered us to scale operations and accelerate business growth.”

With its tangible impact and breakthroughs in the user experience, the AIDP was honored with the 2025 Sao Khue Award and is now expanding into multiple international markets. The solution stands as a compelling testament to FPT’s vision to turn AI into a tool that enhances the human experience - embodying the company’s core spirit of “AI for humans”.

Optimizing operations for the manufacturing & chemical industries through AI-driven solutions

Amid mounting pressure from supply chain disruptions and worker shortages, manufacturers are turning to AI as a key driver shaping the future of smart production. According to Bain & Company, 75 per cent of leading manufacturing enterprises identify technology and AI as strategic priorities in their R&D agendas.

Facing this challenge, a leading chemical conglomerate headquartered in Germany sought a technology partner with deep manufacturing expertise, advanced AI capabilities, and a strong global presence - and FPT was chosen as its strategic partner for this groundbreaking transformation journey.

To address supply chain bottlenecks involving thousands of procurement-related emails and requests each day, FPT developed Supply Chain-GPT and Procurement-GPT - two AI solutions powered by large language models (LLMs) that automate responses, provide real-time monitoring, and standardize processes.

The results were remarkable: response times for each email request were reduced from several days to just 2-5 minutes, saving up to 99 per cent of users’ waiting time, while supporting 20 languages across global operations.

These are just two among dozens of AI-driven solutions FPT has developed for the client’s various departments and business units - helping it redefine its operational model. What FPT accomplished goes beyond process optimization; it represents a reimagining of how humans and systems collaborate in the era of intelligent manufacturing.

Breakthrough in the energy sector: AI-powered fiber optic data analysis

In the oil and gas industry, inspecting well conditions and assessing oil, gas, and water flow traditionally rely on large, physical logging tools (PLTs); costly equipment that often disrupts operations.

Recognizing that fiber optic installation for well monitoring is becoming a global trend, FPT approached the challenge from a new perspective: “If AI can interpret the data transmitted through fiber optics, do we still need PLTs?” This question guided FPT’s consulting and solution design for a Fortune Global 500 energy corporation. The result was a pioneering AI solution capable of analyzing subsurface data from fiber optics - enabling the client to potentially save millions of USD annually while maintaining up to 95 per cent accuracy, even with limited training data. This achievement demonstrates FPT’s technological prowess and deep domain expertise in the oil and gas sector.

What sets FPT apart is that it doesn’t stop at proof-of-concept projects. Every AI story and solution the company delivers to global enterprises stems from a profound understanding of industry challenges and a seamless integration with the client’s existing ecosystem. Each AI initiative begins with an AI-First mindset - envisioning AI not as an add-on tool but as the foundation for business operations.

Through this approach, FPT delivers “quick wins” that generate “real impact” - measurable value, tangible operational improvements, and a solid foundation for long-term digital advancement.

Looking ahead, FPT aims to integrate AI into 100 per cent of its products, services, and solutions across the “Made by FPT” ecosystem. This commitment is steadily reinforcing FPT’s position as a trusted AI transformation partner on the global technology map.

FPT has long been proactively building a comprehensive AI talent ecosystem - combining in-house training, international collaboration, and the recruitment of top-tier experts - with the goal of developing a workforce that embodies global thinking and world-class AI capability.

In 2019, FPT established the AI Lab, envisioned as a long-term “talent incubator” built on a dual model of training and practical research.

The AI Lab partners with world-leading institutions such as Mila Institute in Canada, the University of Texas at Dallas in the US, and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to develop internationally-accredited training programs. After just two years, many AI Lab alumni have become core AI engineers at FPT, while others have earned doctoral and master’s scholarships at prestigious universities, including Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania, EPFL, UCLA, and NUS.

Students at the AI Lab are not only trained academically but also gain hands-on experience through participation in large-scale AI projects for global clients, working directly alongside leading industry experts from around the world.

Alongside nurturing domestic talent, FPT actively attracts international AI experts. Notably, the company has welcomed Mr. Binod Rangadore Hampapur, former Executive Vice President of Infosys (an Indian IT giant, ranked fourth globally by Brand Finance); Mr. Frank Bignone, former Vice President and Head of Digital Transformation at Airbus for Asia-Pacific and China; and Mr. Prajith Nair, former Director of Training at Infosys. These senior experts serve as core catalysts spreading the AI-First mindset across FPT - driving transformation not only in technology but also in management, operations, and human development.

In parallel with investing in people, FPT has also built robust AI infrastructure through a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, the world’s leading GPU provider. This collaboration has significantly shortened AI model training time and enabled FPT to commercialize AI models efficiently and cost-effectively. Together, these efforts form a foundation that allows innovative ideas from the AI Lab to be rapidly realized and deployed across enterprises - marking a decisive step toward shaping a new generation of AI-First global talent.

Alongside its training initiatives, FPT fosters a “learning-by-doing” environment through innovation platforms such as the FPT AI Hackathon, Bird Tank, AI application sharing forums, and iKhien - an internal innovation program launched in 2017. Each of these platforms serves as an “open lab” where employees can experiment with ideas, tackle real-world challenges, and witness the tangible value that AI brings. This approach has allowed the spirit of “thinking with AI - Acting with AI” to spread organically across all departments, turning digital transformation from a slogan into a daily practice.

On average, FPT records 2,500-3,000 innovation initiatives each year, with a target of about 20 per cent directly related to AI. In 2024 alone, AI-driven initiatives generated nearly VND200 billion ($7.6 million) in value, contributing to the total of VND865 billion ($32.8 million) in benefits created through the iKhien program that year.

“By 2025, our goal is for 80-100 per cent of employees in FPT’s global IT services sector to become proficient in leveraging AI in their daily work - enhancing productivity and quality. Among them, around 20 per cent of engineers will become AI Application Engineers - a pioneering force driving the creation and deployment of practical AI solutions for clients.” shared Mr. Vu Tien Dat.

This goal is being realized through the “AI Ready for Excellent Delivery” program, which aims to prepare 1,500 software engineers to take part in global AI projects.

In the near future, every FPT employee will have a personalized AI assistant integrated into their daily workflow - complementing and amplifying human capabilities.

At that point, AI will not only help employees work more productively and save the company tens of billions of VND each year but also make them happier - by freeing them from repetitive tasks so they can focus on creativity and value creation. Meanwhile, FPT’s engineers and operations specialists will continue to learn, refine, and optimize AI models to better serve global clients.

This is how FPT aligns human transformation with digital transformation - where AI does not replace people but empowers and elevates them.
