The Namaste Investment and Development Joint Stock Company and the Saigon Port Joint Stock Company have won a bid to exploit An Thoi Port on Phu Quoc Island district off the coast of the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province.

They will lease the port for a 40-year period for VND952 billion ($39.8 million).

Construction of An Thoi Port, the biggest on Phu Quoc Island, was completed in 2021 with a designed capacity of 280,000 tons of cargo and 440,000 passengers a year.

It is the only port on Phu Quoc capable of accommodating vessels of up to 30,000DWT.

Under master planning for Phu Quoc, An Thoi will be developed into an international port and a center of trade and tourism with the potential to attract investors.
