Bac Ninh province in northern Vietnam attracted more than $4.8 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) during the first eight months of 2025, up 4.8% year-on-year, according to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Finance.
As a result, the northern province took the lead in FDI attraction nationwide, accounting for nearly 18% of the country's total FDI inflows in the period.
The province licensed 245 new projects worth over $1.47 billion, while existing projects registered to raise investment capital by more than $3.04 billion.
Bac Ninh has set a target of attracting $6 billion in FDI this year. To date, it has hosted 3,363 FDI projects with a combined registered capital exceeding $47.6 billion.
The processing and manufacturing sector remains the strongest magnet for foreign investors. The province is home to major global corporations such as Samsung, Foxconn, Canon, Apple, Goerteck, Amkor, Hitachi Energy, and Victory Giant Technology.
