Binh Duong eyes transport projects to boost development

Southern Binh Duong province plans to invest in key transport projects to boost investment attraction and trigger economic growth drivers while helping ease traffic pressure on existing roads, according to local authorities.

Projects include Ring Road No. 3, Ring Road No. 4, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, the My Phuoc - Tan Van route, and the Bau Bang railway line linking the province with Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port in neighboring Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Deputy Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Minh told a recent working session with Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway will stretch 68.7 km and have six lanes. Total investment is expected at over VND24.2 trillion ($1.02 billion) and completion is scheduled for before 2025.

The province has proposed the Ministry of Transport guide and support the implementation of projects to ensure they meet regulations.
