Binh Duong urged to study metro link to Ho Chi Minh City

The Government Office issued Notice No 43/TB-VPCP on February 13, announcing Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's conclusions and directives following his inspection of key transportation projects during the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2025.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of southern Binh Duong Province to promptly consider investing in a subway (metro) line from Ho Chi Minh City's Suoi Tien railway station to Binh Duong.

Furthermore, he directed the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of neighboring Tay Ninh Province to finalize investment procedures for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project and urgently select investors for implementation before April 30, 2025.

The Ministry of Transport was tasked with coordinating with the People's Committees of southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau to explore options for upgrading National Highway 51 into an urban expressway to enhance traffic capacity, reduce congestion, and minimize traffic accidents.
