Authorities in southern Binh Phuoc province have proposed the government provide financial aid of VND5.8 trillion ($245.7 million) to build the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway.
Total investment for the project is estimated at over VND25.5 trillion ($1.08 billion), including more than VND15 trillion ($635 million) for construction and around VND4.6 trillion ($195 million) for site clearance.
Some VND9.8 trillion ($415 million) will indeed be earmarked from the State budget. However, the province is able to contribute just VND4 trillion ($169 million), so local authorities have proposed the government provide support of VND5.8 trillion ($245.7 million).
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway is part of the west North - South Expressway project, which was approved by the Prime Minister as part of the Vietnam Road Network Development Plan for 2021-2030 and vision towards 2050.
It is designed to have a total length of nearly 130 km, passing through Binh Phuoc for 92 km and the central highlands’ Dak Nong province for 38 km.
