A business matching and export promotion conference was held in central Da Nang city in both online and offline forms on August 2 to help businesses to promote products and expand export markets.
The event attracted over 250 delegates, including domestic and foreign enterprises, exporters and distributors, representatives for diplomatic agencies and embassies of different countries and Vietnamese trade representatives abroad.
The conference consisted of two sessions, discussing trends and opportunities for developing export markets, and issues that businesses need to pay attention to as well as connection activities among businesses.
Addressing the conference, Vice Chairman of city’s People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong said Da Nang is an important gateway to the sea of the Central Highlands and Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar to Northeast Asian countries through the East-West Economic Corridor.
The city has a lot of potential and strengths in attracting investment and developing production and export of many types of products, he said.
In the first six months of 2024, the city registered total trade value of nearly $1.6 billion, a year-on-year growth of 11.3%. The city targets a year-on-year increase of 6% in export revenue for 2024.
The city is making its efforts to carry out a number of trade promotion activities, diversify programs to support businesses in promoting and consuming products, and expand consumption markets.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said with the policy of diversifying consumption forms, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed relevant agencies to coordinate with organizations and enterprises to expand both traditional and modern distribution channels with a focus on exploiting online e-commerce channels for Vietnamese goods in domestic and international markets.
