Vietnam is expected to export 1.72 million tons of coffee this year, earning an estimated $4.2 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
This would be a new record in export value, increasing $200 million compared to the record set last year.
Exports were 259,000 tons in the third quarter, for revenue of $774 million. The figure represents a decline in volume of 20.8 per cent year-on-year but a rise in value of 0.4 per cent, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
This brings the total coffee export volume in first nine months to 1.266 million tons with revenue of $3.16 billion, down 7.3 per cent year-on-year in volume but up 1.9 per cent in value.
The export price of Vietnamese coffee in the nine-month period reached $2,499 per ton, a year-on-year increase of 9.9 per cent.
