Construction of the first phase of the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park (IP) in the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho city is to begin this month, according to the city’s Management Board of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks.
The IP will sit on 293.7 ha with investment of about VND3.718 trillion ($152.6 million).
Site clearance has been basically completed and land handed over to the investor.
The project will be operated by the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Group, a joint venture between Sembcorp and Becamex, a major Vietnamese industrial developer.
VSIP Group has develop 12 IPs in Vietnam, in Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Binh Duong, and Can Tho.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh approved construction of the project last October.
