Da Nang accelerates plan to attract investors to its free trade zone

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong has signed a plan to implement a scheme on attracting strategic investors to develop infrastructure and draw businesses into the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

The plan aims to ensure coordinated and efficient implementation, focusing on attracting key investors to build functional-zone infrastructure while also luring secondary investors. It will be closely aligned with the city’s earlier roadmap for establishing the free trade zone, avoiding overlaps and duplication.

Key priorities include completing the governance and operational framework, building a database of strategic investors, and accelerating infrastructure development in areas with cleared land to create ready-to-use sites.

The Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DSEZA) will lead the development of a strategic investor database by the third quarter of 2026, with a secondary investor database to follow in 2027.

Da Nang will also introduce clear criteria to select strategic investors, prioritizing financial capacity, infrastructure expertise, project efficiency and the ability to attract secondary investors, while stepping up targeted investment promotion at home and abroad.
