Central Da Nang City's Land Development Center recently organized a public selection process for organizations and individuals to temporarily lease vacant public land for short-term business and service purposes.

In the first selection round on October 30, 13 applications were submitted for the temporary lease of four unused plots, with an annual rental total of  nearly VND1.7 billion (nearly $64,600)

Since the beginning of 2025, the center has organized the selection of individuals and organizations to lease various plots of public land for short-term use, aiming to prevent land wastage and environmental pollution.

In line with the policy to combat unused land wastage, the Da Nang People's Committee previously approved a plan to auction and temporarily exploit unused public land, publicly listing available plots for short-term lease. These plots are intended for use as parking facilities, commercial, and service activities, located in the former districts of Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le, and Hoa Vang.

Currently, the Land Development Center is proposing to coordinate with relevant local departments to select organizations and individuals for very short-term leases, such as 3 to 6 months, to support business activities during the upcoming 2026 Lunar New Year. This initiative aims to maximize land resources for the city’s socio-economic development, increasing income for small traders and freelance workers.
