The central city of Da Nang recorded a solid economic recovery in the first quarter of 2026, with its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) estimated to have grown by 8.45% year-on-year.

Commerce and tourism services remained a bright spot in the city’s economic landscape. During the period, total tourist arrivals were estimated at more than 4.2 million, up 15.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Of the figure, international visitors accounted for 2.344 million, rising 16.2%, while domestic tourists reached 1.862 million, up 14.1%.

Retail and consumer services  also maintained strong momentum. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 16.2% year-on-year to VND66.15 trillion ($2.51 billion), while wholesale trade expanded by 13.1%.

Industrial production showed encouraging growth, with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rising by 12.1% compared to a year earlier.

In terms of trade, total import-export turnover in the first quarter was estimated at $2.2 billion, up 13.7% year-on-year. Of this, exports were valued at $1.09 billion, an increase of 9.7%.
