Dat Bike and BAEMIN Vietnam signed a cooperative agreement on August 8 to bring practical values to driver-partners when converting to electric motorbikes.

The signing of the cooperative agreement with BAEMIN is Dat Bike’s next move in its green transport transformation strategy, to help drivers save on costs and contribute to achieving the government’s emissions reduction target.

BAEMIN and Dat Bike cooperated in June in the first phase, with an electric motorcycle experience program for driver-partners. After the first phase received a lot of positive feedback, the second phase was officially launched, allowing driver-partners to rent vehicles at a preferential price of VND32,400 ($1.43) per day, thereby saving cost and maximizing profit.

The second phase is expected to take place over three months, from July 25 to October 25, with a certain number of electric motorbikes available for BAEMIN’s driver-partners. After the second phase, BAEMIN and Dat Bike will jointly negotiate a rental price and adjust that price to suit the needs and financial capabilities of the driver-partner.

“Dat Bike hopes that this cooperative program with BAEMIN will convince more users, including technology driver-partners, about the features and utilities that electric vehicles bring, promoting the transition to green vehicles for a cleaner environment,” said Ms. Bui Nguyen Truc Ny, Sales Director at Dat Bike.

After the completion of the second phase, based on feedback on prices and operating costs from BAEMIN’s driver-partners, Dat Bike plans to continue assisting riders in renting bikes at discount rates. In particular, after a certain period of time, depending on the frequency of use and rental, the vehicle becomes the driver’s property, so that the driver can earn more personal income and actively participate in environmental protection.

Mr. Jinwoo Song, General Director of BAEMIN Vietnam, said that, in the near future, BAEMIN aims to complete the electric vehicle ecosystem, which includes banks, insurance companies, and electric vehicle manufacturers. “The current price of electric vehicles is relative to the high income of drivers, so we hope that this ecosystem will partially support them in using electric vehicles,” he said.

In addition, the close cooperation with Dat Bike aims to give drivers the opportunity to access electric vehicles at preferential prices, while there will be discounted credit packages for BAEMIN drivers if they need to switch to electric vehicles. “We will continue to promote our role as an entity connecting partners in the ecosystem to work together towards the common goal of environmental protection,” Mr. Song said.
