The School of Communications & Creative Industries at the British University Vietnam (BUV) has opened its Spectrum Exhibition – Summer Show 2025, attracting hundreds of students, lecturers, industry representatives, and creative experts.

Part of the university’s annual flagship Summer Show series, the event showcases projects from students across three academic years in the Contemporary Creative Practice and Professional Communication programmes.

Themed “SPECTRUM”, the exhibition draws inspiration from the diverse colours and forms of light, symbolising the variety of perspectives, skills, and ideas within the BUV community. The works on display combine academic insight with practical innovation, reflecting the university’s creative spirit.

The visual identity for the exhibition was designed by Nguyen Ngoc Diep, a final-year Contemporary Creative Practice student. She said her concept was inspired by the vibrant diversity she has witnessed during her time at BUV.

“It’s a reflection of our personal and collective journeys, the growth we’ve experienced, the challenges we’ve overcome, the friendships we’ve built, and the lessons we’ve learned. Each project tells a story of creativity and resilience, brought to life through curiosity, collaboration, and a shared passion for expression,” Diep said.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Rick Bennett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of BUV, described universities as “playgrounds for student ideas,” where exploration, creativity, and learning from mistakes are encouraged. He praised the works on display for showcasing both talent and the university’s commitment to open-minded, academically rich thinking.

Dr. Paul D.J. Moody, Head of the School of Communications and Creative Industries, said the exhibition represented the culmination of three years of sustained student effort, supported by dedicated lecturers. “We hope this exhibition boosts students’ confidence in showcasing their talents while reaffirming our school’s commitment to nurturing bold, inspired, and future-ready creative individuals,” he said.
