Digital economy contributes 17% to Da Nang’s GRDP

The information and communications sector in central Da Nang city posted revenue of VND34.2 trillion ($1.4 billion) in 2022, according to the municipal Department of Information and Communications.

In particular, turnover from software exports reached $132 million, or 120 per cent of the annual target and a 34 per cent increase over 2021.

The digital economy is estimated to have contributed 17 per cent to the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP).

Da Nang targets revenue of VND36.2 trillion ($1.52 billion) in information and communications this year, with software export turnover expected to hit $146 million.

The department reported that as of December, all public services were conducted online at Level 4, the highest level in Vietnam’s online public service system.
