Dong Nai accelerating construction of new riverside road

Thiên Ân -

Investment estimated at $165 million as the southern province’s capital city adopts plans to become a riverside urban area.

Southern Dong Nai province is focusing on tacking difficulties and accelerating the construction of a road along the banks of the Cai River in the provincial capital Bien Hoa, which is one of the province’s key transport projects.

The 4.6-km road runs through five wards in Bien Hoa, with total investment capital standing at VND3.960 trillion ($165 million), including VND3.247 trillion (more than $131 million) for site clearance.

Five bridges are to be built along the road.

Under provincial planning, Bien Hoa will be developed into a riverside urban area, necessitating the construction of riverside roads to enhance links.

The project was scheduled to begin in 2022 but was delayed due to difficulties relating to site clearance and compensation.

Dong Nai’s project management board for transportation has asked relevant agencies and contractors to speed up site clearance tasks to ensure project begins in the second quarter of 2024.
