Vietnam’ export revenue to Canada reached over $2.5 billion in the first five months of the year, up 12.9% compared to the same period last year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Key export products are machines and spare parts, garments and textiles, wood furniture, phones and accessories, transport vehicles and electronic products.
The Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada said exports of these products are forecast to maintain high growth in 2024 and coming years due to Canada’s high demand.
However, Vietnamese enterprises are facing many challenges when exporting to Canada, according to the trade office. Major difficulties are economic downturn, inflation, Canada’s low interest rate policy and high logistics cost.
