Representatives of US energy giant ExxonMobil have conducted a fact-finding tour of Khanh Hoa province in central Vietnam to explore opportunities for a $10 billion oil refinery project in the Van Phong Economic Zone.
According to the group’s preliminary proposal, the complex would comprise a state-of-the-art refinery, a petrochemical plant, storage facilities, a dedicated port, and auxiliary technical areas.
Notably, it would be ExxonMobil’s first low-emission refinery project worldwide.
During the visit, the ExxonMobil delegation surveyed key sites including the Nam Van Phong Port, the Van Phong bonded fuel terminal, and Ninh Tinh village in Dong Ninh Hoa ward.
