First 70 students from major universities across the country have graduated from a semiconductor design training course.
The three-month course on analogue integrated circuit design is an initiative spearheaded by the National Innovation Centre (NIC), in partnership with US giants Qorvo and Cadence, aiming to enhance the workforce in the semiconductor design sector.
Many graduates have already secured positions with leading microchip design companies such as Marvell, Synopsys, FPT, Faraday and Samsung.
A graduation ceremony was held for the students in Hanoi on August 9.
Addressing a seminar titled 'Promoting the Role of Vietnamese Enterprises in Developing Human Resources for the Semiconductor Industry,' held on the sidelines of the ceremony, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said the ministry’s efforts in semiconductor human resources training has received strong support and are being actively implemented across various localities, businesses and educational institutions.
He expressed confidence that the goal of training 50,000 engineers for the semiconductor industry, including 15,000 specialised in design, will be met.
The ministry has submitted a project on staffing development for the semiconductor industry to 2030, with a vision to 2050, to the Prime Minister for approval.
