The Vietnam HR Awards Podcast will discuss how to improvise human resources (HR) strategies in the “new normal” and the changing demands of employees after Covid-19.
There is no doubt that the pandemic has bolstered the influence of HR on business sustainability, especially when all employers and employees have been thrown into chaos and uncertainty. While playing the key role in helping businesses navigate the challenges, there have also been many ups and downs, twists and turns, and successes and failures in HR worth listening to and learning from.
With the theme “Matters That Matter”, the Vietnam HR Awards Podcast is an opportunity for HR and business leaders to review the tumultuous year and share their stories, feelings, and inner-most thoughts with the community. The three episodes will revolve around three key questions that even ordinary workers struggle with: the value and joy of work, orientations, and business relationships in the “new normal”:
- Episode 1, entitled “Resourceful HR: From why to how?”, will discuss three important aspects that make up an employee’s total well-being, which are physical wellness, mental wellness, and financial wellness.
- In Episode 2, listeners will find the answer to the question “HR: House Builder or Home Maker?”, and at the same time have the opportunity to see the inner soul of HR professionals and understand the prospects for the HR industry in the “new normal”.
- Episode 3, entitled “Who is HR’s KOL in the company?”, will open a new perspective on business relationships that HR professionals need to tie in. From there, it will evoke understanding and sympathy across departments towards the common goal of sustainable development of HR and business.
Episode 1 will see the participation of two guest speakers who are experts in HR management and corporate governance for leading enterprises: Mr. Hans Nguyen, Senior Advisor on Distribution at Dragon Capital Vietnam, and Mr. Nguyen Hieu Truong An, Vice President, Head of Talent, and CEO - APAC, at Suntory Beverage & Food Asia.

Ms. Tieu Yen Trinh, CEO of Talentnet, said that Covid-19 not only changes the role of HR in businesses but also directly impacts on the concerns and priorities of ordinary workers. “These disturbances certainly create many emotions and thoughts that they have not had the opportunity to share with anyone,” she added. “Therefore, instead of going loud, the Vietnam HR Awards Podcast chooses a more direct and closer approach: a podcast. With a new format that only focuses on sound, we want to reveal the most authentic stories, so that not only HR people but also business leaders and ordinary employees can listen to and find themselves somewhere in the sharing of the HR department - the department that has been most engaged with them during the recent turbulent period.”
