Many officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) have been found to have violated Party rules and State laws in advisory work and the issuance of mechanisms for solar and wind power development, the trading and management of oil and petroleum supplies, and the implementation of the adjusted National Power Development Plan VII, according to the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee.

They were also found to have made violations and errors in the management of the price stabilization fund, and the drafting, evaluation, approval, organization, and implementation of projects and bidding packages by the AIC Company.

These officials include Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, former Secretary of the Party civil affairs committee at MoIT, and former Minister of Industry and Trade; and Do Thang Hai, member of the Party civil affairs committee at MoIT and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The violations and errors were also attributable to the Party civil affairs committee at MoIT in the 2016-2021 and 2021-2026 tenures, and the standing boards of Party Committees at the ministry and related departments.

Also responsible for these violations and errors are the standing board of the Party Committee of Electricity of Vietnam in the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 tenures and a number of officials.

The outcomes of inspections were announced at a meeting of the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee held in Hanoi from December 18-20.

These violations caused serious consequences and possibly huge losses to State funding and assets and also wasted social resources, negatively affecting the prestige of the Party organization and State agencies, and call for disciplinary measures, the Commission said.

It asked the Party civil affairs committee at MoIT and Party committees and organizations at related ministries, sectors, localities, and agencies to review, define specific responsibilities, and determine disciplinary measures regarding violating Party organizations and members, and to report on the results to the Commission.
