A business forum connecting enterprises from the five ASEAN member countries of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar took place in Thailand’s Udon Thani province from November 17-19, the Voice of Vietnam has reported.
Addressing the forum, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh said the gathering is the result of investment, trade and tourism promotion activities conducted in Vietnam by Vietnamese businesspeople based in Thailand. The forum offers an appropriate and effective channel for businesses to realize future cooperative opportunities.
Participants discussed and exchanged experience to strengthen trade exchanges and connections and form a network connecting businesses in the five countries in areas of agriculture, tourism, services, high technology, exports, and finance.
It also introduces and promotes Vietnam’s investment and business environment and the export of Vietnamese goods to countries in the region, and contributes to realizing a government project in the 2020-2024 period on calling on overseas Vietnamese to join in introducing and consuming Vietnamese products.
President of the Thailand - Vietnam Business Association Ho Van Lam said five enterprises signed cooperation agreements on November 19, and he expects many more will ink deals after the forum.
According to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, overseas Vietnamese have nearly 400 investment projects in Vietnam with combined registered capital of about $1.72 billion.
