The Prime Minister has decided to establish a Government Delegation for international economic and trade negotiations to strengthen coordination and oversight of Vietnam’s international negotiations, agreements, and commitments.
The delegation, to be headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, shall assist the Prime Minister in coordinating ministries, agencies, and localities in negotiating, signing, ratifying, and implementing international economic and trade treaties and agreements.
It is responsible for advising the Prime Minister in formulating overall negotiation strategies and plans in accordance with Vietnam’s national interests and socio-economic development orientations.
The delegation shall consult with business communities and relevant stakeholders during the negotiation process in a bid to protect Vietnam’s economic and trade interests.
The delegation shall also coordinate with ministries and agencies in monitoring, evaluating and proposing measures to address issues arising in the implementation of international economic and trade treaties and agreements.
