Losses and waste in public investment identified
A report on practicing thrift and combatting waste in the workplace in the 2016-2021 period from the National Assembly (NA) Supervision Delegation, which will be discussed at the ongoing NA session, noted that thousands of projects have violated regulations on investment procedures, causing losses and waste of nearly VND32 trillion ($1.3 billion). The report also identified other shortcomings causing waste in public investment, such as improper negotiations and contract signings, and inadequate project construction supervision, among others.
