The northern port city of Hai Phong disbursed over VND9.44 trillion ($370 million) of public investment capital this year, as of October 20, according to the municipal People’s Committee.
The figure is equal to 56% of the annual plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
As a result, Hai Phong ranks 25 among the country's total 63 provinces and centrally-run cities in terms of public investment capital disbursement following Prime Minister’s plan.
The city ranks fifth in the Red River Delta region.
To accelerate the disbursement, the city’s People’s Committee established a task force in May to examine and take measures to tackle difficulties facing the implementation of public projects.
The city set a target of disbursing 95% of the capital assigned for 2024.
