Northern Hai Phong city targets becoming a major seaport city by 2030 under its master planning in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the government.

The city will also strive to lead the country in terms of modernization and industrialization and digital transformation.

It aims to become a growth driver of the northern region and the country as a whole, develop comprehensive and modern transport infrastructure, and become a modern sea-based economic center of international scale with a focus on seaport services, logistics, and tourism.

The plan also sets a target of building Hai Phong into an international connection center with modern logistics services.

Under its planning it will give priority to developing important sectors such as electronics and information technology, seaport and logistics services, and trade. These sectors are to account for 55-60 per cent of the city’s added value by 2030.
