Hanoi attracted $1.12 billion in FDI in the first five months of 2024, the Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) online newspaper has reported.

The capital city licensed 92 new projects with combined registered capital of more than $1.1 billion.

In May alone, 19 new projects were licensed with a total registered capital of $17.3 million.

Meanwhile, $36.8 million was added to 64 existing projects, and $57.9 million spent in 86 transactions to contribute capital to or buy shares of local businesses.

During the five-month period, 12,900 new enterprises were established in the capital city with total registered capital of VND124.3 trillion ($4.88 billion).
