With projected high economic growth in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City is poised to experience significant positive changes in labor and employment.
According to Ms. Tran Le Thanh Truc, from the city's Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the robust economic development in 2024 will lay a solid foundation for the growth of industries in 2025, thus pushing up demand for labor force
The city's ambitious goal for 2025 is to provide employment for 300,000 workers, including 140,000 new jobs, while aiming to reduce the urban unemployment rate to below 4%.
To achieve these objectives, the department will proactively coordinate with various agencies, departments, and organizations to facilitate activities that connect labor supply and demand. Job exchange programs will be launched, enabling workers to quickly access job opportunities.
Additionally, the department will direct the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Services Center to collaborate with relevant units to connect labor from the city with provinces in the eastern region of Southern Vietnam, the Mekong Delta, and the Central Highlands.
Another crucial initiative is the implementation of a program to send Vietnamese workers abroad under cooperation agreements with countries such as Japan, South Korea, Germany, and Australia, thereby opening up opportunities for workers to engage in the international market.
