Ho Chi Minh City has issued a plan to implement a project on developing export processing zones (EPZs) and industrial parks (IPs) in the 2025-2030 period with a vision to 2045, in a move towards the application of high-end technology and green development.
The southern city will complete the building of policies this year to implement projects, including incorporating the industrial park network development plan into the city’s planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050; developing technology criteria for businesses at EPZs and IPs; and introducing policies to help businesses upgrade technology or relocate from EPZs and IPs.
During the 2024-2030 period, the city will transform its EPZs and IPs.
In 2031-2045, it will examine, supervise, and support businesses in upgrading technology or relocation.
Ho Chi Minh City has 23 concentrated EPZs and IPs covering nearly 6,000 ha.
They attracted $90.14 million worth of domestic and foreign investment capital in the first quarter of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 21 per cent.
