HCMC releases common database for public use

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has released a list of shared databases in various areas to facilitate the exploitation and use of information for those in need.

The 45 databases cover areas such as civil servant and public employee management, business registration, foreign investment projects, public investment projects, household businesses, tax reports, road traffic infrastructure, construction permit issuance, housing management, and urban technical infrastructure management, among others.

The city’s Department of Information and Communications will work with relevant units to integrate databases belonging to the city’s shared database directory into the common data repository. It will also publish technical guidance for units that need to access and use the data on the Ho Chi Minh City Data Portal at http://data.hochiminhcity.goc.vn.

The decision to issue the shared database directory reflects local authorities’ vision to digitally manage the city’s administrative system. In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City identified the theme of digital transformation and smart city development as being digital data.
