Ho Chi Minh City led the country in export revenue in 2023, with $42.46 billion, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GSO) show.
It was followed by northern Bac Ninh province with $39.3 billion, southern Binh Duong province with $30.6 billion, and northern Thai Nguyen province with $25.7 billion.
The capital Hanoi ranked eighth among Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces, with $16.65 billion.
Ho Chi Minh City has topped the country in terms of export value for many years in succession, posting turnover of $44.9 billion in 2021 and $47.5 billion in 2022.
The US remains its largest export market, followed by China, Japan, South Korea, and India.
The city also led Vietnam in FDI attraction last year, with total registered capital of $5.85 billion, a year-on-year increase of nearly 50 per cent.
