Ho Chi Minh City has kicked off the second phase of the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len Canal construction and environmental renovation project with total investment of VND8.2 trillion ($346 million).

The canal links the city with nearby Long An, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai provinces.

It will focus on dredging the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len Canal at a length of 31.46 km, upgrading 63.1 km of embankments, building a road along the canal with a length of 63.4 km, and completing drainage infrastructure, parks, trees, lighting systems, and 12 wharves.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.

The project will be a breakthrough in urban infrastructure in Ho Chi Minh City and a driving force for socio-economic development in the region.
