Ho Chi Minh City’s labor market is expected to be quite vibrant over the final months of the year, with a surge in recruitment needs, particularly for general and temporary workers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Bao Cuong from the city’s Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, these job opportunities will be available in both the formal and informal sectors, benefiting new graduates and those seeking a change of employment.
“It is projected that approximately 63,000 job openings will be filled in the closing months of the year, a 9 per cent increase compared to the same period last year,” he said.
Recruitment needs are concentrated in several sectors, such as retail; business and commerce; transportation, warehousing, and port services; logistics; and food processing, with common positions including sales staff, business development, and market development personnel.
Export-oriented manufacturing businesses such as textiles and footwear and electronics will also maintain their recruitment of technical workers and general workers to fill year-end orders.
Some industries, however, may face difficulties due to reduced or delayed orders from international markets.
