The Ministry of Education and Training has issued a decision on the Standard Curriculum for Semiconductor Microchip Training at the undergraduate and master’s levels.

This curriculum applies to higher education institutions involved in implementing the "Program for Developing Human Resources for the Semiconductor Industry until 2030, with a Vision to 2050," under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1017/QD-TTg, dated September 21, 2024.

It serves as a framework for universities to develop, review, and update their semiconductor microchip training programs, which must be reported to the Ministry before student admissions.

The Standard Curriculum for Semiconductor Microchip Training at the undergraduate and master's levels outlines the minimum general requirements applicable to all training programs within undergraduate and master's disciplines that, in accordance with current regulations, participate in training human resources for the semiconductor industry.

The standard curriculum includes requirements for objectives, learning outcomes, admission requirements, academic workload, structure and content, teaching methods and assessment of results, teaching staff and support personnel, facilities, technology, and learning materials.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the development process involved the participation of experts and scientists in semiconductor microchips; sought extensive feedback from training institutions, employers, and alumni from semiconductor-related fields; and referenced the corresponding training program requirements of developed economies and territories such as the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
