Digital transformation and green transition both require high-quality human resources, with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs urged to take measures to increase the rate of trained workers to meet demand, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has said.

There is a shortage of high-quality human resources at a time when many corporations investing in Vietnam have major demand for a high-tech workforce, he said in an address to a conference on December 26 on implementing tasks relating to workers, people who rendered service to the nation, and social affairs in 2024.

The labor sector must focus on human resources training to meet the economy’s transformation process and demand among enterprises, he said.

The knowledge-based economy, the digital economy, the green economy, and the circular economy will all become trends in the new era, together with the promotion of science and technology and innovation, but will also pose technical barriers, he added.

High-quality human resources are therefore among the most important resources to create breakthroughs, he said.

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said the sector will focus on implementing policies and measures to stabilize and develop the labor market in line with international integration and ensure labor supply meets demand.
