Human resources training needed for economic recovery and growth

Nhật Dương -

Call made as Vietnam Labor Skills Day set for October 4.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has asked relevant agencies to enhance training to improve workers’ capacity and skills, particularly those in key economic areas, to serve economic recovery and development.

The call was made in response to Vietnam Labor Skills Day 2023.

MoLISA also sought the promotion of links between the State, schools, businesses, and society as a whole in developing skills for workers, to ensure they meet requirements in globalization and international integration.

Related activities must be held flexibly and practically in line with actual conditions and targets in vocational training development, with the aim of developing high-quality human resources, according to the ministry.

Focus should be on providing consultancy, job orientation, training, and re-training to improve the skills and knowledge of workers, especially those at industrial parks and export processing zones, to meet increasing demand for skilled workers for economic recovery and growth, MoLISA said.

The Prime Minister decided to choose October 4 as the annual Vietnam Labor Skills Day, which has received major attention from ministries, agencies, localities, and businesses over the past three years.
