The Ministry of Transport has announced the opening of the Phu My Inland Container Depot in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The depot covers 37.8 ha at the Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, with six ports capable of connecting seaports and other inland container depots in the region.
According to the inland port network development plan in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, the Phu My depot has a capacity of handling 300,000-400,000 tons of cargo per year.
The ministry released a list of eleven inland container depots earlier this year, which includes Hai Linh, Km3+4 Mong Cai, Tan Can Hai Phong, Dinh Vu - Quang Binh, Hoang Thanh, Long Bien, Tan Cang Ha Nam, Phuc Loc - Ninh Binh, Tan Cang Nhon Trach, Tan Cang Que Vo, and Tan Cang - Long Binh.
Vietnam targets develop inland container depots with a total capacity of 5.7-8.6 million TEUs a year by 2025.
