Statistics show that in the first ten months of this year, Vietnam welcomed approximately 14.1 million international visitors, a 41.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023, and is projected to reach around 18 million by the end of the year.

According to Mr. Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of East Asia & Pacific for IHG Hotels & Resorts, after a period of fluctuation and stagnation due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese tourism has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels.

"The number of international tourists to Vietnam this year could reach 18 million and will increase to 20-25 million in the coming years as demand for tourism in Vietnam continues to grow strongly," Mr. Rajit remarked, adding that IHG's bookings in Vietnam in Q3 2024 reached a record high.

According to IHG representatives, along with significant changes in visa policies, the increase in air connectivity from key markets, and continuous innovation in tourism products have been the catalysts driving the influx of international tourists to Vietnam.

Furthermore, Vietnam is currently considered one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.

Recently, Best Diplomats – an international organization for diplomatic training based in New York, USA – published a list of Asian countries considered safe and attractive tourist destinations. Vietnam ranked 8th on the list.
