The northern Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee has approved adjustments to the Ninh Binh section of the Ninh Binh–Hai Phong expressway project, increasing the total investment to VND9.113 trillion ($347 million) and expanding the land area required for the project.
The project’s land-use area will increase from approximately 273.57 hectares to 303.62 hectares to accommodate additional technical infrastructure. The additions include three connecting ramps, a bridge overpass structure at the Mai Son interchange and an overpass crossing at the Khanh Duong interchange.
Following the adjustment, the total investment will cover construction costs, compensation and resettlement support, as well as contingency costs. The newly added and revised components are required to be completed by 2028.
The Ninh Binh section of the Ninh Binh–Hai Phong Expressway is 25.3 km long. It starts at the Mai Son interchange in Yen Thang Ward, where it connects with the North–South Expressway, and ends at the bridge crossing the Day River in Khanh Thien Commune.
The expressway will be built to full four-lane standards with a design speed of 120 km per hour.
