Investment sought for two railway lines in south
The Thu Thiem - Long Thanh and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway lines in the southern region, with total investment of more than VND90 trillion ($3.8 billion), have been approved by the government and competent agencies for investment have been assigned. Both projects are included in the railway network plan for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050, and are also on the national list of projects calling for foreign investment.
Planning for resettlement areas from Mekong Delta expressway almost done
The detailed planning for four resettlement areas in Hau Giang province serving the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway project is expected to be completed this month. The province has agreed to invest VND246 billion ($10.5 million) in the four resettlement areas. The Expressway stretches nearly 111 km with total investment of nearly VND29 trillion ($1.24 billion).
Funding available for traffic infrastructure projects in Nghe An
The Ministry of Transport has set aside more than VND12.6 trillion ($537.63 million) to implement traffic infrastructure projects in northern Nghe An province within the medium-term public investment plan to 2025. The province has also proposed investing in many key projects in the public-private partnership (PPP) form, such as upgrading Vinh International Airport and building the Cua Lo Deep-water Port.
Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway sped up
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province are speeding up construction of the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway, which passes through Lam Dong and southern Dong Nai province. The 200-km long highway consists of three component projects and is in the public-private partnership (PPP) form.
Politburo to mull North-South high-speed railway
The Politburo will discuss the North-South high-speed railway project in September, in which priority will be given to construction beginning on two sections - Hanoi to Vinh and Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City - with total investment of nearly $25 billion. The Ministry of Transport will seek National Assembly approval of the key national project before 2027.
