Authorities in central Quang Tri province have given in-principle approval to a proposal to build an oil refinery at the Southeastern Quang Tri Industrial Park.

A joint venture involving firms from Laos, Vietnam, and the US, the refinery will cover an area of 100 ha, with investment capital and the exact location yet to be released.

The project will produce fuels such as oil, gas, and gasoline using modern technology.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee Ha Sy Dong met recently with representatives of the investors, including Laos’ Sun Commercial Import-Export and Service Company Limited, Vietnam’s BFA Trading Service Production Company Limited, and the US’s Green Power Global LCC, to discuss the project.
