The total retail sales of goods and services in Vietnam during the first two months of the year stood at more than VND994 trillion ($41.88 billion), a year-on-year increase of 13 per cent, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.
Retail sales of goods were estimated at VND781.8 trillion ($32.7 billion), up 10.1 per cent year-on-year, while turnover from services reached VND98.6 trillion ($4.12 billion), up 16.2 per cent.
The figures show that purchasing power in the retail market has improved post-pandemic, but many factors still affect the market, encouraging retailers to adopt appropriate plans to maintain purchasing power. Many businesses have launched a series of trade promotion programs to attract customers.
Vietnam targets an increase of 8-9 per cent in total retail sales of goods and services this year.
