Vietnam earned $5.14 billion from agriculture, forestry and fisheries exports in January, a 79.2 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Imports were estimated at $3.72 billion, leading to a trade surplus of $1.4 billion, up more than 4.6-fold year-on-year, the Government News reported.
Exports of all groups of products surged during the month, with agriculture products up 93.8 per cent year-on-year, forestry products 72.5 per cent, and fisheries products 60.8 per cent.
Export value to all markets rose, to the Americas by 93.6 per cent, Africa 185.4 per cent, Asia 86.3 per cent, Europe 38.2 per cent, and Oceania 100.9 per cent.
