Giang Hoang -

Two projects at the same location in southern province, with investment of $34 million.

Japfa Comfeed Vietnam (Japfa Vietnam), a leading agro industrial company with a focus on animal protein products, has officially opened the Binh Phuoc Feed Mill and Slaughterhouse at the Minh Hung Sikico Industrial Park in Dong No commune, Hon Quan district, in southern Binh Phuoc province, with investment of some $34 million.

The opening was attended by H.E. Denny Abdi, Ambassador of Indonesia to Vietnam, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Tran Tue Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and guests from various fields.

Mr. Tien expressed his appreciation of Japfa’s contributions to Vietnam’s livestock industry.

“The Party and the government of Binh Phuoc province are very pleased with Japfa Vietnam choosing the province as its largest investment destination in Vietnam, with a commitment to registering a series of livestock projects costing $230 million,” said Ms. Hien.

“The presence of Japfa is convincing proof of the attractiveness of Binh Phuoc among large FDI enterprises.”

As one of the most modern projects of Japfa Vietnam, the animal feed mill will have a capacity of 240,000 tons a year in the first phase and investment of nearly $17 million. In the second phase, it will boost capacity to 480,000 tons a year, ensuring the supply of quality animal feed to the southern region and the central highlands.

Japfa’s slaughterhouse, meanwhile, covers an area of nearly 15 ha and has a capacity of 60,000 heads a day, with investment of more than $17 million. It is equipped with modern infrastructure imported from Europe meeting GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards, which were officially put into operation to meet the diverse needs of customer groups such as restaurants, hotels, canteens, and fast food chains.

Japfa Vietnam also invested more than $6.8 million in building a seafood processing plant in the Mekong Delta’s Long An province last year, with food lines in snakehead fish, red tilapia, perch, and frog bearing the STP brand. Designed with a capacity of 60,000 tons of products a year, in the first phase of operations it has reached a capacity of 30,000 tons.

“With the operation of these three projects, Japfa Vietnam has set a target of 1.5 million tons for 2023, completing the Feed-Farm-Food supply chain and employing more than 200 local workers,” said Mr. Arif Widjaja, Country Head of Japfa Vietnam.

“In the next phase, the company will continue to expand investment to optimize productivity, train human resources, improve product quality, and bring value to customers towards the goal of ‘Cooperation for Common Prosperity’.”

The opening marked an important milestone in the process of completing the Feed-Farm-Food supply chain, affirming the company’s commitment to sustainable development in Vietnam.
