The Prime Minister has approved the master planning for south-central Khanh Hoa province during the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.
Khanh Hoa targets becoming a centrally-run city to match its strategic location, a regional connectivity center, and a main gateway to the East Sea for the central highlands and central region.
It has set a target of posting average annual gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 8.3 per cent in the planning period, while per capita GRDP is to reach VND189 million ($8,000).
The province targets raising its urbanization rate to 70 per cent, the share of the digital economy in GRDP to 30 per cent, and the rate of trained workers to 90 per cent by 2030.
Khanh Hoa will focus on developing high-quality service sectors such as tourism, finance, trade, logistics, education, urban development, manufacturing and processing, energy, information technology, telecommunications, and supporting industries.
