The Mekong Delta’s Long An province has set a target of posting average GDP growth of 9 per cent a year under its master plan for rapid and sustainable development in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.
Planning is aimed at ensuring rapid and sustainable development on the basis of a sustainable economy and improvements in productivity, production quality and efficiency, and competitiveness.
It will focus on developing a knowledge-based economy, a green economy, and a circular economy.
By 2023, annual per capita GRDP is expected to exceed VND180 million ($7,600). GRDP in the industry and construction sector is to account for 61.8 per cent of the total, manufacturing and processing 46-48 per cent, services 24.2 per cent, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries 7.5 per cent.
Growth in productivity is targeted at over 10 per cent a year.
In the first half of this year, Long An granted investment licenses to 39 FDI projects with total registered capital of $408.5 million.
