With a huge number of FDI projects having been licensed in Vietnam, timely solutions are identified to meet their demand for high-quality human resources, heard a conference held recently in Hanoi to explore the training cooperation opportunities between universities and FDI enterprises.
Apart from existing FDI projects, Vietnam granted licenses for over 3,000 new FDI projects in 2023, leading to a huge demand for labor force.
Cooperation between enterprises and tertiary education establishments is considered one of top priorities, according to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc.
Some 243 tertiary education establishments nationwide are training over 2.25 million students, which can only partly meet enterprises’ demand for high-quality human resources, he said.
However, Vietnam needs to strive more in research and training in order to meet increasing demand for high-quality labor force, particularly in the field of high technology, he added.
At the forum, three Vietnamese universities and six FDI enterprises signed six cooperation agreements.
